Pastor Lewis Story
On April 23, 1990, Roosevelt Lewis Sr. was born into the Body of Christ, he accepted the charge and began a journey of Holiness. The first stop was to The Tabernacle of Witness under the teaching of Bishop F. Z. Hill, where he witnessed faithfully about the goodness of God and served as a true witness for three years. In 1993 a call went out from Greater Jesus Holy Temple under the teaching of Pastor Jerry Potts. There he served once again as a witness and answered the call of the Deacon, serving for six years. In 1999 he began to serve under the teaching of Bishop Marion Robinson Jr. where he served as a Layman for one year. In 2001 he was ordained as a Deacon, in 2005 he was ordained a Minister of the Word. He took the charge of Assistant Pastor in 2008, he served this duty for four years, after which he was ordained as an Elder being led by the Spirit of God. Elder Roosevelt and Apostle Rosemary Lewis went forward taking a big leap of Faith and stepped out on the Word of God and began to seek to establish a House for the Lord, after much Prayer and Fasting God began to open doors of Fellowship and Favor for the Man and Woman of God. On November 01, 2013, the doors were open for Elder and Apostle Lewis at 3100 South University, and Simplicity of the Word Ministries was established (Old Rugged Cross Holiness Church). On November 29, 2013, the first Shut-In was held with prayer and praises unto God. On December 01, 2013, the first service was held, and the church was dedicated to the Lord, fifteen souls was added to the House of God.
